Malmo CEO Niclas Carlnen has been asked whether their former player Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be allowed to train with the Swedish side during his rehabilitation.
Only yesterday it was confirmed Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has been invited back to train with Malmo in order to maintain his fitness ahead of next month’s internationals.
Speaking to Expressen, Carlnen was quizzed about the Manchester United star returning to Sweden as he recovers from his knee injury. Leeds United’s Jansson has been using Malmo’s training facilities this week, but Carlnen believes Ibrahimovic returning would bring too much attention.
Due to this the Malmo director couldn’t confirm if the Manchester united forward would be joining Jansson.
“We know it would cause a stir, so therefore we can’t simply comment on this,” said the Malmo chief.
Ibrahimovic’s future at Manchester United is now up in the air following the serious injury he picked up last month. There have been reports the Swede has been offered the chance to recover at former clubs AC Milan and PSG, but there is still a possibility Malmo could help.
Like Jansson, Ibrahimovic is held in high regard by the Swedish club after both players started their careers there.
