Trabzonspor president Ahmet Agaoglu has spoken to the Turkish media and praised Leeds United loanee Caleb Ekuban.
The forward joined the Super Lig club on loan in the summer after struggling in his debut season at Elland Road.
Speaking to Sozcu, Agaoglu said: “We are looking to bring soul to this football club and I think we are on the verge of achieving that. You can just see Ekuban. A Ghanaian boy, who came to Trabzonspor at the start of the season, is giving everything to the club in every game or every practice. We are very happy to have that kind of attitude around the football club.”
It seems Ekuban is a favourite at Trabzonspor and in recent weeks the player has been in impressive form, scoring some important goals for the Turkish club.
There have been reports Trabzonspor are keen to make his move from Leeds United permanent, but they aren’t prepared to pay the €1m redemption clause that was agreed with the Championship side during the last transfer window.
Ekuban’s attitude has reportedly impressed Trabzonspor manager Unal Karaman and he wants Agaoglu to sign him permanently.
The 24 year old is unlikely to feature at Leeds United under Marcelo Bielsa, with reports the attacker is keen to remain in Trazbon.
