In every single interview given by Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz, we get to see him being asked about the situation of Andreas Pereira.

The midfielder was loaned by Manchester United last summer, with the clubs agreeing to a purchase option worth €20m.

Then at the start of the year, Flamengo officials made a trip to England where they negotiated with Manchester United so the permanent transfer could be done for only €10m.

It turns out, however, that the move was not concluded. Many reasons were reported in the past few months, but the fact is that the Brazilian club did not pay for the move.

Now they still have a couple of months to take that decision, as the loan runs for a few more months.

Speaking to Sportv, Marcos Braz explained the situation once again, pointing out there’ll be no hurry to get the deal done.

“Andreas, in fact, had a fatality in the very important game and that was a weight in the process,” Marcos Braz told Sportv (via ESPN Brasil).

“The biggest reason we went to talk to Manchester was that when we made the first proposal, Manchester politely asked us to go there and deal with the matter, they didn’t want to stay by email. We respect. We took the plane and went there’.”

”In the midst of that, there was even the situation of the Central Bank. We are calm, even because the player has a contract until July 30, we are using the time to make decisions with caution. We have to respect the pressure of the crowd, but in some situations we have to be cold in the process to make decisions, as has always been done here. We have the player with a contract in place for a long time.”
