The president of Guingamp Bertrand Desplat has told the French media his star forward Yannis Salibur can leave in the summer. The Frenchman has been linked with Leeds United following their attempts to sign the player at the start of the season.
Eurosport.fr have reported Salibur looks set to leave the Ligue 1 club in the next window after interest from other clubs last summer. It’s been claimed the forward could finally get a move to England, which will put the likes of Leeds United on alert.
Salibur recently stated he would be interested in a move to the country, but Leeds United would need to convince him to drop down to the Championship. This season Salibur has progressed as a player, and may well be looking for top flight football.
During the last summer window we covered reports from France that Leeds United boss Garry Monk was keen to sign the 26-year-old, and had tabled a bid for the player. However, the Championship side were turned down by the Guingamp star because he wanted to play at least one more season in Ligue 1.
