Two days ago, we carried a report from Le Parisien, who explained Lucas Digne and Steven Nzonzi have ‘pleased certain Lyon decision makers’ in recent weeks.
On December 18th, L’Equipe reported the Ligue 1 side are tracking the midfielder, who is currently on loan at Galatasaray from AS Roma, but there was no mention of the Everton star.
Le10 Sport now state discussions are ongoing to sign Nzonzi on a loan deal in the winter market and things are progressing on the right path.
Unlike L’Equipe, Le10 do mention the Toffees left-back. They claim Lyon ‘checked’ the 26-year-old’s name to strengthen their defence, but a transfer in January seems difficult.
Everton are close to appointing Carlo Ancelotti as their new manager and the impending arrival of the former Chelsea boss at Goodison Park would complicate Lyon’s potential chances of signing Digne.
According to the report, Anceotti could ‘veto’ Digne’s exit in the mid-season window.
Digne is an integral member of Everton’s squad as he has started in each and every league fixture this season, so it’s pretty much certain any manager would veto his exit.
