As Leicester City prepare to face Napoli in the Europa League on Thursday night, the latest news from Italy claims the Serie A side may have a huge casualty for that match.
Club captain Lorenzo Insigne was replaced during the game against Juventus on Saturday, and according to their official statement, he’s working separately from the group.
It’s Tutto Mercato Web who brings the information, now claiming the striker is ‘in doubt for the trip to Leicester’, where Napoli start their Europa League campaign.
The quotes say Insigne ‘worked in the gym following the blunt trauma suffered in Saturday’s match’, which is of course a worry for the Italians.
Insigne’s availability should be confirmed later this week, with Napoli announcing if he’s flying to England or not. For the Foxes it would be a fortunate boost to face their strongest opponents in the group without their best player on the pitch.
In their Europa League schedule, Leicester City then face Legia Warsaw on September 30th and Spartak Moscow on October 10th.
