Fabio Paratici’s arrival in north London back in June has seen Tottenham Hotspur sign two players from the Serie A in the summer and they continue to look at the Italian market for the future.

For the past few weeks, Franck Kessié has been named as a Spurs target as his contract at AC Milan runs down in 2022.

After returning from an injury, the 24-year-old made his first appearance of the season in his side’s 2-0 victory over Lazio.

He was applauded by the home supporters at the San Siro on Sunday, while Kessié’s ‘renewal is still the main issue’, reports Calciomercato.

It’s claimed the Ivory Coast international’s agent last met the Rossoneri on August 20th and there has been no dialogue between the two parties since then.

Stefano Pioli’s side made an offer worth €5m net per season [excluding bonuses], rising to €6.5m in the fourth and fifth year of the contract. This proposal was not accepted by the player.

Kessié is demanding €6.5-7m net per season from the beginning and the Serie A side must figure out ‘what they must do definitively’. There are ‘two paths for the future, whether to meet his request or consider a sale in January.

Paris Saint-Germain have initiated talks, while Spurs are also in the mix to sign the player.

Tottenham have ‘put on the table’ an offer that includes an annual salary of €8m. ‘Time is running out’, most likely for Milan, and ‘there is no intermediate stage’. It’s not made clear whether Spurs are looking at Kessié for January or as a free agent next summer.
