Three days ago, Foot Mercato reported Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on Djibril Sidibé, who is on loan at Everton from AS Monaco.
With regards to the Spanish side, the report only said Sevilla are ‘interested in his situation’.
These claims have been picked up by AS and they provide more insight on the La Liga club’s stance on the 27-year-old.
Sevilla are looking to strengthen the fullback position in the next window and the France international, who can operate as a right-back or left-back, is under the ‘supervision of Monchi’. The Toffees defender is an ‘old wish’ of the Sevilla sporting director.
Due to the World Cup winner’s versatility, the Seville based club ‘does not lose sight’ of the Everton player. However, Jesús Navas’ impressive displays on the right side of the defence have convinced them not to invest heavily to strengthen the fullback positions.
AS add Sidibé will return to Monaco after finishing his loan spell at Goodison Park and will then have to make a decision on his future.
The defender’s performances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side will help him have a ‘wide deck of options’, claims the report. They further state Sevilla are interested in him and are ‘attentive to the future’ of Sidibé.
He has managed four assists in 21 league appearances for the Merseyside club.
The Frenchman hasn’t featured for Everton since the Premier League restarted last month, but earlier reports indicated he has been left out of the squad due to an injury.
