Allan Saint-Maximin left OGC Nice for Newcastle United last summer and signed a six-year contract at St James’ Park.

In his debut season in England, the winger netted four times and registered seven assists in all competitions for the Magpies.

Over the weekend, Le10 Sport had an exclusive report stating both Arsenal and Napoli ‘think’ about the 23-year-old, as the French outlet also explained the Gunners and the Serie A side had contacted the player’s entourage to know his intentions, but hadn’t made any concrete approach with the Tyneside club.

Speaking to CalcioNapoli24, Italian journalist Ciro Venerato wasted no time in dismissing reports linking the Naples club to the Newcastle attacker.

After linking the Serie A club to many other players, he said: “Finally, a denial. Napoli aren’t following Saint-Maximin, and have never contacted Newcastle or his agents”.

These claims have also been backed up by Area Napoli, who state the wideman is managed by his brother and the latter has also dismissed the possibility of the player leaving the English club.

Apart from Napoli and Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the Frenchman, but a potential move this summer has been ruled out by Newcastle manager Steve Bruce.
