Hull City have appointed Tim Walter as their new manager for the 2024/25 season.
The 48-year-old joined the Tigers after spending three years at Hamburg SV.
Bild state the Hull City manager wants to raid his former club to sign Jonas Meffert this summer.
The defensive midfielder joined the second division German club in 2021, months after Walter arrived at Hamburger SV. Meffert was a regular under the current Hull City coach, who ‘particularly appreciates’ his profile.
The manager has convinced the Championship side to table an offer for the 29-year-old. He has less than a year left on his deal and Hull City could have offered around €300,000.
Bild say the English club’s ‘irritating offer’ has not at all convinced the German club, more so considering the money [around €13m] they have spent so far in this window.
The player, for his part, is keen to join Hull City. The report claims the English club could make a new attempt to try and bring him to the club this month.
There’s no mention whether Hamburg SV are willing to let him leave, or the fee needed to convince them.
