Arriving from Granada’s B team for free last summer, Sulayman Marreh has yet to feature for Watford’s first-team, but that could be because they don’t think he’s ready.
The 22-year-old midfielder has, however, been given a few opportunities abroad to gain some experience, as shown by the Hornets’ willingness to loan him out twice last season, first to Valladolid and then to Almeria for the second half of the campaign.
This season is no different, as Javi Gracia seemingly was unable to fit in the Gambia international in his plans, and Watford have allowed him to go to Belgium to team up with Claude Makélélé at AS Eupen.
Yet to be announced by the Premier League club, the transfer has been unveiled by the Jupiler Pro League outfit, where he will stay for the entire season to learn from the former Real Madrid and Chelsea defensive midfielder.
Despite being 22 and capped 11 times for his country, Marreh only has six top flight appearances to his name, five of which have come in the Copa del Rey, as well as 45 minutes in a La Liga game back in 2014.
He’ll be hoping to increase that tally this season.
