Loris Karius’ time at Besiktas has been just as up and down as his time at parent club Liverpool.
There’s been inconsistent form, and concerns off the pitch as well. Not to mention a row about unpaid wages which has been going on for some months and predates the Covid-19 crisis.
It’s increasingly unlikely Karius will remain in Turkey next season, and in recent days there’s been claims of interest from Wolves, and also a suggestion Jurgen Klopp could keep him as second choice to Alisson next season.
Prior to that, a return to Germany was talked about, with Hertha Berlin being one of the clubs linked.
This week’s edition of SportBild brings the Bundesliga club back into the picture, and it’s claimed they’ve ‘already spoken’ to Karius about joining them in the summer.
Goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry has been touch, and Karius fits the profile Hertha are looking for: Experienced and speaks German.
A full transfer is estimated at around €8m, although it’s suggested a loan with purchase option could be available.
