Valencia have 24 hours to save their long running move for Brentford forward Sergi Canós as Alavés ‘hurry to finalise’ a deal for him.
That’s according to Cadena SER, who say Valencia need to move quickly to try to prevent the player from signing his deal with Alavés.
Valencia have long been chasing the signing of Canós but are yet to get a deal over the line for him as they’ve refused to meet Brentford’s demands.
A report last week made it clear that he was now analysing other options and Cadena SER report that Alavés are ‘in a hurry to finalise the negotiations’ with him.
That’s left Valencia in something of a panic, and they now only have hours left to ‘try to prevent’ the player from signing his new contract with Alavés as the Spanish side have ‘bet very strongly’ to secure his services.
The hope is that Valencia owner Peter Lim ‘comes to his senses’ and sanctions the move for Canós, having so far refused to pay the money that Brentford were looking for.
In the interim Canós has become frustrated and looked elsewhere and there is a growing belief he ‘cannot afford’ to give up another offer from a La Liga club.
