Towards the end of March, a claim emerged in Italy that Juan Cuadrado, whose contract at Juventus expires in June, had been approached by Tottenham.
Well, the player’s agents had received contact from Spurs, where it was said that Fabio Paratici, who worked with the Colombian in Turin, would be ‘glad to welcome’ him in London.
Now, the story has gone a bit quiet since then, but there has been an update, not from the Tottenham front, but more from the player’s side.
It comes from Colombian journalist Pipe Sierra, who has reported as an exclusive that ‘despite having reached a verbal agreement last October’ with Juventus, the player, who is 33, ‘has not yet renewed’.

The reason for that is ‘due to recent differences’, because the club are offering him two more years with an option of a third ‘and a salary reduction’.
This isn’t what the player wants, because he has asked for ‘the same payment and two seasons’.
If true, then this could be the ideal opportunity for Tottenham to swoop in for an experienced player on a free.
Not only that, but Cuadrado knows the Premier League from his time at Chelsea, even if that didn’t exactly go to plan, since he only made 15 appearances during his time in London.
