As Watford continue to be one of the Premier League clubs with a big scouting job in Portugal, they’ve watched a Champions League match this time.
As reported by newspaper A Bola, the Hornets had representatives at the Estádio do Dragão, where they saw Liverpool beating Porto 4-1 in the Champions League quarter finals.
A Bola doesn’t say who Watford were scouting, although not so long ago, the Italian press claimed the club were ‘leading the race’ for the Porto winger Yacine Brahimi.
It turns out that Brahimi was one of the Dragons’ best players in the match, as he was one of the few who created some danger to Liverpool’s defence.
As Brahimi’s contract expires at the end of the season, we can expect a big race to sign him in the summer. He has 12 goals and eight assists for Porto this season.
Now if Watford were looking for other targets, there were good performances from Jesus Corona and Hector Herrera as well. The latter is becoming a free agent in the summer too.
