Tottenham fans, prepare yourselves for a long few weeks if the Italian media is anything to go by.
Once again masterminding his Spurs side to three points in a late 3-1 win over Swansea on Wednesday night, Mauricio Pochettino will have done nothing to dispel the rumours surrounding his future.
Of course, as things stand, he will be at White Hart Lane next season, yet TuttoMercatoWeb really don’t want that to happen, with two Serie A clubs now said to be interested in the Argentinean manager.
On Wednesday, the very same website claimed the London club were interested in bringing in Roma’s Luciano Spalletti if Pochettino were to leave, and now they seem to think Roma would want the Tottenham manager to replace the potentially departing Italian manager at the Stadio Olimpico.
Keeping up?
That’s not all, however, as Inter Milan are also said to be keeping an eye on the Spurs manager’s situation in case they feel the need to change things up again at the San Siro in the summer.
The problem with TMW’s claims is the amount of ‘ifs’ chucked in there, which suggest this is a huge stab in the dark, and merely an excuse to link an in-form manager with two clubs who have struggled for silverware for years due to Juventus’ domination.
Furthermore, why would Pochettino, who is incredibly comfortable at White Hart Lane, want to leave without achieving anything other than getting Spurs back into the top four?
It doesn’t make sense.
