Fulham are in the market for a new goalkeeper and have been credited with an interest in Arsenal’s Bernd Leno for the past few weeks.
The newly promoted Premier League side have not been able to agree a deal to sign the Gunners keeper.
This has forced Fulham to look at other options in the market and Sergio Rico is among the players identified as a target by the English club, according to reports.
Rico knows Fulham well from his loan spell at the London club during the 2018/19 season. Sevilla let him move on loan to Paris Saint-Germain the following campaign, and his stay at PSG was made permanent in 2020.
AS have relayed claims made in England about Marco Silva’s side wanting the Spaniard on a loan deal, and they also give an update on his future in Paris.
It’s claimed PSG will not allow the former Sevilla man to leave this summer despite receiving several offers for him. Christophe Galtier currently has Rico, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas as the three keepers at his disposal.
It’s expected the Costa Rican will leave PSG in the current window, and the former two will compete against each other for the No.1 spot at Parc des Princes. That should rule out Fulham’s chances of bringing Rico back to the club this summer.
