Milliyet claim Besiktas could sell Domagoj Vida to Everton without the defender playing for the Turkish champions.
The Croatia international has been linked with a move to Everton in recent weeks. It’s been reported a host of Premier League clubs are showing an interest in Vida despite the player reportedly signing a pre-contract agreement with Besiktas.
Milliyet say after Everton’s interest was reported, Besiktas are considering a quick sale if a club matches their €10m valuation.
Gunayer claims Everton have already offered €7m for the Croatian defender, but Besiktas are only looking to accept offers in the region of €10m.
Despite Besiktas president Fikret Orman’s wish of keeping Vida for at least a season, if Everton are prepared to pay the asking price, then the final decision will come down to the Turkish side’s manager Senol Gunes.
If Gunes gives the green light, then the player could end up at Goodison Park without even playing a game for Besiktas.
It must be said it’s hard to believe a lot, if not all, of the Vida claims. Besiktas’ pre-contract agreement could be question, and it’s doubtful whether Everton would be so happy to offer the Turkish club an immediate €7m profit.
The rumour could be being talked up to make Besiktas fans value Vida’s signing more, and perhaps lay the ground for a summer move.
