During City Group’s hunt for a club in Brazil, it’s been reported earlier this year that they were interested in the purchase of Bahia.

That story went quiet for a while, and it seemed like the end of it when, this week, it was claimed that Manchester City’s owners made a £150m offer to take over Atletico Mineiro.

However, the talks for Bahia are still strong, and the latest developments are today brought by journalist Jorge Nicola.

On Youtube, the reporter claims he’s heard from a strong source in Brazilian football that there’s already an agreement between the City Group and the Salvador club.

Regarding the news about Atlético Mineiro, Nicola goes against those recent claims and ‘assures’ his viewers that, at this point, Bahia is the club closest to being sold to Manchester City’s owners.

Contacted by Nicola, club president Guilherme Bellintani claimed they still ‘can’t make an agreement with anyone’, as the club still must turn into a company to be sold to foreign investors.

Still, it’s pointed out that Vasco recently managed to find a deal with buyers which is pending the voting which will make the sale possible, and the same could happen at Bahia.
