Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web today reveals West Ham United’s effort to sign New York City FC star Valentin Castellanos.
According to their report, the MLS side have already received two offers from the Hammers. Those were an €8m bid a made few weeks ago, and a most recently another one worth €10m.
With the MLS side playing hard in the talks, also rejecting an attempt from Brazilian side Palmeiras, it’s said these two bids from the London club were also ‘returned to the sender’.
Castellanos had impressive numbers for New York City FC last season, with 23 goals and eight assists in 36 appearances, being the league’s top scorer and winning the MLS Cup.
It’s just not clear yet if West Ham are keen on making a third attempt.
It turns out that despite using West Ham in the text and in the picture, Tutto Mercato Web actually mentions Newcastle United in their text. That’s most likely to be a little mistake which will be corrected by them soon.
