Back towards the middle of August, it was revealed that José Mourinho and Tottenham were interested in Toulouse’s Ibrahima Sangaré.

The young defensive midfielder was part of the team that was relegated down to Ligue 2, and being one of their most valuable assets, it made sense for him to look for top-tier football elsewhere.

The news came from French journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter, who claimed Spurs ‘absolutely wanted’ the defensive midfielder, and he could leave for a fee between €15-20m.

Well, that appears to have now changed, since Foot Mercato have an update on the Ivory Coast U23 international’s situation in the south of France.

The 22-year-old is said to be attracting ‘enormous’ amount of interest on this side of the Channel, and that Toulouse ‘could let him go for an amount of between €8-10m”.

That’s a considerable drop compared to what the previous report claimed, and it’ll be interesting to see if Tottenham jump at the opportunity.

Simply because, at that price, Sangaré will likely be seen as a steal.
