According to Fotomac chief editor Zeki Uzundurukan, Martin Skrtel is in transfer talks with Rangers.

Skrtel has repeatedly been linked with a move to Ibrox in recent months and a possible reunion with his former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard.

Earlier this month the Slovakian defender left Fenerbahce after his contract expired and he’s now looking to find himself a new club before the season starts.

Recent reports in Turkey claimed Skrtel was still in discussions with Fenerbahce over a contract extension but it seems Rangers are back in the race to sign the player.

The Scottish Premiership side have been linked with a move for the veteran defender ever since Gerrard was installed as Rangers boss.

This summer the Glasgow club have already brought in Swedish international Filip Helander from Bologna and it would be an ambitious plan to pair him with Skrtel.

Skrtel has also been linked with moves to Serie A club Parma and Greek giants Olympiacos in this window.

He’s now expected to announce his next destination in the coming days.
