Atalanta goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini has an offer to join Everton this summer, with a move away from the Italian side looking likely.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who cover the situation today after numerous reports about a potential move to Goodison Park.
They explain, like the others, that after Juan Musso’s €20m move to Atalanta this summer, Gollini finds himself own the pecking order.
Musso is likely to take the number one shirt as the club have been tracking him for some time, but his arrival for such a fee means a sale is needed to balance the books.
Gollini is the ‘first one to be sold’, and there is a feeling they can get a good deal for him as he has the numbers ‘to be a starter in a great team’.
Three clubs have currently made offers for him, and all of them are from the Premier League, Everton, Tottenham and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The nature of those bids isn’t mentioned, but Atalanta know they can get ‘up to €20m’ for their man and are waiting for a British auction or the right offer before sanctioning a departure.
Whether Everton or their Premier League counterparts will make such an offer isn’t mentioned, but the Serie A side seem confident they can get it regardless.
Joining any of the three sides would mean a return to England for Gollini, who was a youth player at Manchester United and had a year-long spell at Aston Villa as well.
At the minute, he is simply enjoying his holidays and training to keep fit, and his aim is to find a club where he can be a starter and then fight for Italy’s number one shirt for the 2022 World Cup.
That would seemingly then rule out Everton and Tottenham, who have Jordan Pickford and Hugo Lloris, respectively, but not Wolves, who need to replace Rui Patricio following his move to Roma.
