On Tuesday we covered claims from Turkey that Crystal Palace have dangled Christian Benetke as bait to try and get Alexander Sørloth back to the club.
The Norwegian is currently on loan at Trabzonspor and has been doing well for the Super Lig club. Despite that, the idea of Palace being so eager to get Sørloth back was hard to believe, and it was reported the Turkish club had knocked the offer back anyway.
Now there are Benteke bait claims coming from Italy.
Calciomercato report Crystal Palace could offer the Belgian striker and Max Meyer in a loan exchange for Fabio Borini.
The Italian forward has repeatedly been linked with a move away from AC Milan, with claims of there being interest in the Premier League. Borini has a contract with Milan until June 2020, and the club have an option to extend it for a further year.
He hasn’t got on the pitch since in August, and it would be curious if Palace genuinely do have an interest in him.
Benteke and Meyer have been having their problems, but their combined value as players is much high than that of Fabio Borini.
