Reports in the Turkish media say Trabzonspor have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Lewis Baker.
Turkish TV channel A Spor claim the Karadeniz Firtinasi have an agreement with both Chelsea and the player, meaning the deal should be announced in the near future.
Regional website 61 Saat also add Trabzonspor have made an offer to Chelsea for the 25 year old, and they report the Turkish side are in talks with the player over a potential transfer.
Neither sources gives any indication whether it’s a loan or a permanent deal, but it seems the move is close.
Trabzonspor are in the market for midfielders after losing Jose Sosa to Fenerbahce earlier this summer, and it seems they’ve found their player in Baker.
After appointing Eddie Newton as their new manager, Trabzonspor have been linked with the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Conor Gallagher, as the former Chelsea coach looks to use his connections with the Premier League club.
Baker had a six-month loan spell with Bundesliga side Fortuna Dusseldorf last season where he made eight appearances. His contract at Stamford Bridge will expire at the end of June 2022.
