Eden Hazard to Real Madrid is just a matter of time.
Of course, it’s felt that way for a number of years, but now Marca say the signing will become official in ‘a matter of days’.
A lot of Chelsea fans will have followed European transfer rumours for some time and will therefore realise that ‘imminent’, ‘a matter of days, ‘coming hours’ and a lot of other phrases are often not to be taken literally.
Marca explain that once Chelsea’s season is decided then the move can be announced for a transfer fee close to €100m. Given that timeframe, it would sound more like weeks than days.
The Spanish newspaper explains Zinedine Zidane told Florentino Perez to sign Hazard whilst the Belgian was still at Lille. At that time the Real Madrid president told Zidane, who was simply an advisor, that he’d be signed once he reached world class status.
It’s explained that given Hazard’s repeated flirting with Madrid, the club ‘feel in a bit of debt’ and almost obliged to sign him this summer. That’s not going to make Chelsea feel any better.
As for Paul Pogba, Real Madrid as a club aren’t as keen as their manager on signing the Manchester United player. Christian Eriksen is another option, although nothing has happened yet.
