Villarreal’s Yéremy Pino is back again on Arsenal’s agenda, according to reports coming out of Spain today.
The Gunners were keen on signing him in the winter market, but their efforts suffered a blow when the 19-year-old signed a new contract last November. His current deal runs down in 2027 and it includes a €80m release clause.
El Periódico Mediterráneo explain the La Liga side are aware the winger has received an interest from a major English club.
Arsenal are mentioned and the report states they are one of the sides ‘willing to invest’ to secure the teenager’s services this summer.
Unai Emery’s side must carry out a big sale in order to balance their books. Although the Spain international has a high release clause, the Yellow Submarine will not let him leave for anything less than €45m.
Villarreal seem open to selling the player this summer, but they are missing an offer from the club and Pino’s approval to carry out a deal.
Meanwhile, a source has told Sport Witness Arsenal are not among the clubs to have made contact to sign Pino in the ongoing window, and while there is a possibility for Pino to leave the Spanish club, at the moment, it is ‘not near’.
