Chelsea, while bolstering their first-team, are also in the business of planning the long-term future of the club with talent.

The signing of Carney Chukwuemeka for £20m was an example of that, and he isn’t the only young midfielder the club are after.

Tuttosport in Italy, relayed by Inter-News, claim that Cesare Casadei, currently at Inter, ‘has ended up in the crosshairs of Chelsea’.

We already knew this from previous reports, but it’s said the Blues are now ‘ready to submit a new offer worth around €15m’ for the youngster, and the feeling is ‘that it could be the right amount’ to let the talented player go.

As many of you will be aware, Inter aren’t exactly flush with cash these days, and while sacrificing a promising player isn’t ideal, it’s a lot of money for a 19-year-old who has yet to make a first-team appearance for the club.

A €15m or so sale of Casadei to Chelsea, as well as money coming in for Andrea Pinamonti, ‘would help Inter reach the goal of €60m’ of sales they had set themselves, all the while keeping their first-team as intact as possible.
