In late March, a lovely rumour popped up in Italy claiming that Napoli were after Bournemouth’s Nathan Aké.
The former Chelsea starlet has developed into a good centre-back under Eddie Howe’s guidance, to the point where Tottenham are now said to be after him.
However, Corriere dello Sport on Friday want to remind everyone that Napoli’s interest in the Bournemouth defender hasn’t gone anywhere.
Keen to bolster their backline to help Kalidou Koulibaly out, the Serie A club are looking at a number of options, starting with AS Roma’s Kostas Manolas, as the €36m clause in the Greek’s contract makes for a very swift transfer if he’s interested in the move.
If he isn’t, that’s when Napoli are likely to turn to their backup options, who are Fiorentina’s German Pezzella and Bournemouth’s Nathan Aké.
Corriere seem to suggest the 24-year-old is third on Carlo Ancelotti’s list of names, perhaps due to the fact they know the Cherries will make it extremely difficult for their star player to leave.
Either way, Napoli, apparently, are still after Aké.
