Cesc Fabregas made his second start of the league this season against Manchester City in the absence of Nemanja Matic, and produced an impressive performance.
The Spaniard registered an assist, yet rumours will continue about the player’s future as long as he’s not a regular in Antonio Conte’s side. Serie A giants AC Milan have been linked with a move for Fabregas, but a January approach now looks beyond them.
According to Calciomercato, the delay in AC Milan’s takeover by Chinese consortium Sino Europe could make it difficult for the Serie A club to sign Fabregas in January. AC Milan remain keen on Fabregas, but it’s believed to be a very expensive option in January.
It remains to be seen if the Serie A giants will still be keen in the summer, or if Fabregas will have have managed to turn around his Chelsea career before that.
Despite AC Milan’s interest, it was unlikely Chelsea would have wanted to sell him in January, especially being in the middle of a title race.
