Italian website Calciomercato have a piece on the growing pressure on Simone Zaza. The Italian forward could now be closer to leaving West Ham than ever, given that Slaven Bilic hasn’t used him in consecutive Premier League games against Manchester United and Arsenal.

The 25-year-old hasn’t scored in 11 games, and West Ham are reportedly three appearances away from having to make his move permanent.

However, Bilic’s reluctance to use him has given the Italian media reason to suggest something isn’t right.

Calciomercato say Napoli and Valencia are still keen on signing Zaza, but the Italian forward is keen on returning to his homeland.

Unfortunately for West Ham and Zaza, Napoli don’t enjoy good relations with Juventus after the transfer of Gonzalo Higuain, and that could prove to be a stumbling block.

Genoa’s Leonardo Pavoletti is reportedly Napoli’s first choice option, but Calciomercato believe he could choose to remain where he is for the rest of the season.

That means Napoli are expected to pursue Zaza in January, but will be dependent on West Ham to make the transfer happen should all parties be interested.

Earlier, there were doubts if Napoli would go for Zaza in January, but with Pavoletti opting to stay at Genoa the road could be clear for West Ham and Zaza to put an end to this.
