The criticism from the Chilean media towards Alexis Sanchez has probably reached its peak now.
Following Manchester United’s 2-0 loss to Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League this week, the player’s home country press has been covering most of the reactions to his performance, especially the quotes from manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Outlet La Tercera does the same today, but includes some heavy words on the player’s form for the Old Trafford side this season.
The report writes that ‘it looks like Sanchez is only called for games because he’s the best paid athlete in the squad’, as he’s ‘very far from his best version’.
La Tercera claims that ‘Sanchez can’t find himself, he is lost on the pitch. He cannot connect with his teammates’. They also add that the team’s ‘rebirth’ after the arrival of Solskjaer has worked with everyone but the Chilean star.
La Tercera also shows some concern about Sanchez’s future in the national team. They say things ‘haven’t been very different’ with La Roja, as he’s had ‘one of his lowest years’ with the team. They’re worried his form could be a problem for the Copa America later this year.
