Speaking to the Spanish media after Tottenham Hotspur’s 3-0 win over Borussia Dortmund for the Champions League, Fernando Llorente had some interesting quotes about his future.

The striker was interviewed by El Laguero, from Cadena Ser, and has claimed that he would be happy to sign a new deal with Tottenham instead of walking for free in the summer.

“If I renew for a year, I am delighted, the project is exciting here at Tottenham, but we will be attentive to any call that may come,” Fernando Llorente told El Larguero (via AS).

Asked about offers to leave in January, Llorente claims there was a possibility to return to his home country, but didn’t reveal the name of the club who called him.

“They did not call me from Bilbao, but there was a call from another place in Spain… that call was not from the south.”

Deporte Valenciano covered the quotes today, saying Llorente only didn’t leave Tottenham in January because of Harry Kane’s injury.

Speculating the club who called him, the website rules out Athletic, as said by Llorente, and Sevilla, who despite being linked to the player, are from the South.

That’s why Valencia are left in the list, as the Mestalla side were looking hard for a striker in January. Now Deporte Valenciano wonders if Valencia could get the player for free in the summer.
