For the past few months, claims coming out Germany have talked about Bayern Munich interest in signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane in 2023.
The Bundesliga winners have seen their star striker Robert Lewandowski leave them for Barcelona in the summer window.
Bayern have bolstered their attack by adding Sadio Mané to their squad, while reports said they have their eyes on the Tottenham striker. These claims have seen the German club’s officials being specifically quizzed about the possibility of making an approach for the 29-year-old.
On September 1st, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić admitted he is delighted with the claims suggesting the England international likes the Bavarian club.
The Tottenham star was again a topic of discussion during STAHLWERK Doppelpass!, and Sport1 have relayed the 45-year-old’s comments.
When asked about the striker situation, Salihamidžić said: “Of course, I’m happy, for all of us that we shot this picture of FC Bayern that we had in public. Now we’re one step further and have to familiarise ourselves with the season.
“The praise about the transfer market period can now be pushed aside. Mané has an incredible mentality and has now had two games in which things didn’t go so well.
“We also have to look at the balance sheets. The boys make some money too. Of course, we will first look at the season to see how that works. We are more occupied than we have been for a long time.”
Salihamidžić was then directly asked about Antonio Conte’s man, and responding to the rumours of the Kane talks, the Bayern chief said: “I haven’t spoken to anyone.”
His comment about the Spurs frontman has been relayed by Sky Deutschland, who add there has been no contact between Bayern and Kane’s brother, who is also his agent.
Despite Salihamidžić’s latest comment, Sky state Kane is considered as a ‘serious option’ for the German champions as they are looking at a new striker to replace Lewandowski.
