Yesterday, Sky Sports claimed Chelsea have made a £30m plus add-ons offer for Paris-Saint Germain star David Luiz.
It was reported negotiations are ongoing, and the Brazilian is keen on a return. According to an updated report from French newspaper L’Equipe, Paris-Saint Germain immediately rejected Chelsea’s offer for Luiz.
L’Equipe say Chelsea made a bid of something between £30m and £35m, but Unai Emery wants him to stay at the club with so many games to play this season.
Thiago Silva and Marquinhos appear to be the first choice centre-back pairing for Emery, but PSG are still counting on David Luiz, who is flexible in his position.
L’Equipe say David Luiz has been left disappointed in the recent days, but he has no intention to force a move as he enjoys an excellent relationship with Nasser al-Khelaïfi.
Chelsea are actively looking to sign a defender this summer, and it’d be interesting to see if they return with a bigger offer before tonight’s deadline.
