Former Belgium international Marc Degryse has again urged Anderlecht midfielder Youri Tielemans to sign for a club like Everton. The 19-year-old could end up in the Premier League this summer, and along with Everton the youngster has been linked with a move to Chelsea.
Voetbal Nieuws have reported on comments made by Degryse when asked about the future of Tielemans. Last month Degryse said the midfielder should join a club like Everton, and he still thinks this should be the case.
The former Anderlecht star believes Tielemans is set for a move away from Belgium, and with Ronald Koeman at Everton this would be the perfect choice.
“He should go to a foreign club with a good level and with a coach who believes in him. But he should not directly go to an absolute top club. A club like Everton would be a good choice for him,” said Degryse.
Everton would face competition to sign Tielemans after we covered reports yesterday that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is keen on the player. It’s been claimed Chelsea have already been in contact with Anderlecht with regards to a summer transfer, and that the Jupiler club are willing to sell to the West London side.
However, it’s unlikely at his age Tielemans would be guaranteed regular games for Chelsea, and a move to Everton could be more beneficial to his development.
