Chelsea were keen on signing Jules Koundé in the summer, but couldn’t manage to get the deal over the line due to their failure to find an agreement with Sevilla.

The Blues continue to look at defenders and three days ago, multiple reports coming out of Italy stated Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt is in the sights of the west London club.

De Ligt is not the only Serie A centre-back currently in the sights of Thomas Tuchel’s side.

According to Sport Mediaset, the Champions League winners ‘point’ towards Inter Milan’s Milan Škriniar and Alessandro Bastoni.

Škriniar has been linked with a move to the Premier League repeatedly over the years, with Tottenham Hotspur credited with an interest over the past two summer windows.

The European champions signed Romelu Lukaku from the Serie A winners in the summer and Sport Mediaset say Chelsea have targeted the two defenders ‘at Lukaku’s suggestion’.

It’s claimed the Nerazzurri duo are ‘key’ to Inter’s project and therefore, it ‘will be difficult to snatch’ the two centre-backs away from Simone Inzaghi’s side.
