Calciomercato have an article on Friday afternoon about Antonio Rudiger, Chelsea interest in the AS Roma player, and his reaction to it.
Rudiger has been speaking to Sky Italia and Calciomercato say he confirmed interest from Chelsea, although they don’t quote him directly doing that.
What the Roma defender is quoted as saying is: “I can only say that Conte is a great coach, but I choose to stay in Rome.”
Rudiger is one of the many defenders who have been linked with Chelsea since Conte arrived at the Premier League club, but as time goes by the less it seems the Italian manager really needs a defender.
David Luiz was brought in from PSG and has done well, with Kurt Zouma returning to fitness. Nathan Ake has returned from his loan spell and Andreas Christensen will be back at Chelsea from Borussia Monchendgladbach when the season ends.
None of that is going to stop the constant reports of Conte wanting another defender for Chelsea, and he may well choose to twist rather than stick in the summer.
