On Tuesday, Paolo Maldini gave a press conference where he discussed various aspects of what Milan were doing.
Among the multiple topics, the former defender touched upon the possibility of the club signing Tiemoué Bakayoko from Chelsea, admitting there were talks to that effect.
He revealed there was a ‘negotiation’ with the Blues for the defensive midfielder, but ‘the modalities still needed to be studied 100%’.
By that, he meant there were still doubts about how the transfer would take place, but Gazzetta dello Sport claim that was just a front.
The newspaper explain that ‘in reality’, the dialogue between Milan and Chelsea is ‘far more advanced’ than what Maldini said.
Nothing has changed since yesterday’s claims, meaning the two parties are working on a paid loan with a view to buy at €30m.
Either way, talks continue to take place between the two and this looks as done a deal as we’re going to get without the move being made official.
Basically, following all these reports, it would be a huge surprise if this didn’t go through.
