Chelsea are ready to offer €6m for Ascoli winger Riccardo Orsolini, reports Sportitalia (via Tutto Mercato Web).
The Serie B star has been linked with a move to AC Milan and Juventus, but it now appears Chelsea are ready to beat the competition.
Sportitalia say AC Milan’s new owners are not convinced with Orsolini, whilst Juventus have ‘slipped away’. That could allow Chelsea to complete a deal should they be genuinely be keen on signing him.
Earlier, Watford had also shown interest in Orsolini, as their scouts were spotted at Ascoli’s matches. The 19-year-old is primarily a right winger, but can also play on the left wing and as a centre forward.
Orsolini has four goals and four assists to his name in 21 appearances this season. Chelsea’s interest in Orsolini shouldn’t come as a surprise, as they have for a long time been active in the transfer market for young talents.
This particular interest may well be pushed by Antonio Conte and his back-room staff, given the manager’s experience of Italy.
