Barcelona’s double-chase for Chelsea’s defenders has now received a distinct update from Spanish outlet El Chiringuito.
Journalist Jose Alvarez informs that in the hunt for Azpilicueta, there is positive news, as his transfer to the Camp Nou is now a ‘matter of days’.
With few details on how much the La Liga giants are set to spend on the defender, it’s only said the move is now nearly done.
Barça’s pursuit for Marcos Alonso, however, seems to be going a lot slower.
Alvarez claims that the transfer is currently ‘stalled’, simply because of Chelsea’s demand for the transfer.

Once again, there aren’t any details on the numbers involved, or if there’s a still a chance the Catalan side would match the price asked by the Blues.
This morning, the local media had already been talking about Barcelona’s chase for Azpilicueta, claiming their attempted first offer had been of €3m, and wasn’t enough.
Now to get to a deal with Chelsea, it seems they improved their bid, and should now be more focused on turning their full attention to Alonso.
