Earlier on Monday, we covered an article stating that Leo Østigard was waiting to be announced as a new Napoli player.

The Brighton & Hove Albion player has been a target for the Serie A side all summer, and with a deal reportedly agreed between the two clubs, the belief the announcement was around the corner.

However, it’s dragged on a bit, with a report on Monday revealing there were still a few details left to sort out, and the defender was at a hotel.

Well, it appears things have moved forward a bit more, because the Brighton man has now been spotted by CalcioNapoli24 undergoing some medical tests, suggesting the move really is about to be announced.

When that is is up to the two clubs, but this really does show how close it all is.

Østigard never once represented Brighton’s first-team, spending spells on loan in the Championship and most recently Serie A with Genoa, where he caught the eye of Napoli and a few others.

Still, it’s Aurelio De Laurentiis’ club who appear to have won the race, with the Seagulls making a tidy profit on the Norwegian in the process.
