Over the last few days, we’ve been reporting Arsenal’s interest in signing German international Skhodran Mustafi.
The north London club are looking to sign a defender, given that Per Mertesacker has been ruled out for a few months due to an injury.
Reports suggest Arsenal have already approached Skhodran’s representatives, whilst Valencia are also willing to sell the defender to generate more funds.
However, it appears Arsenal might have to beat some competition to bring Mustafi to the Emirates.
On Sunday, according to Spanish newspaper AS, Chelsea also have a ‘strong interest’ in signing Mustafi.
Mustafi is expected to travel to England today, as Valencia play Bournemouth and Crystal Palace in the upcoming days. That’s a convenient situation for any English clubs interested in the player.
Chelsea are also in the transfer market for a defender, and it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if they try to sign Mustafi. The 24 year old German international has a lot of experience and has shown he’s one of the better options available in the current market.
