Chelsea had a scout in Portugal on Saturday, where they watched Rio Ave’s match against Sporting, according to local reports.

It’s newspaper O Jogo who says the Blues had an official at that game, and they claim there was a specific target involved.

The Blues were there to watch loanee Lucas Piazon, who’s having a loan spell at Rio Ave until the end of the current season.

It turned out that the Brazilian was picked as the man of the match, as he scored the home side’s goal in the 1-1 draw against the Lions.

Piazon is having a decent loan spell at Rio Ave so far, with four goals and one assist in 14 appearances for the club. His appearance was very much praised by the local media.

But considering that this is his seventh loan spell, we wonder if Chelsea are watching him eyeing his return to the club or just evaluating how much would he be worth in the next transfer window.
