Chelsea remain in ‘constant’ negotiation for signing – But move now expected to be ‘postponed until summer’

Paulo Dybala’s potential transfer from AS Roma to Chelsea isn’t happening this month, according to the latest reports from Italy.

TuttoMercatoWeb today shares a story claiming this situation is ‘postponed to the summer’.

The reason for it is that Dybala suffered an injury in the match against Lazio, and that should stop Chelsea’s pursuit for now.

That doesn’t mean the chase is off, though, as the Blues are said to be in ‘constant’ negotiation with intermediaries, as they ‘remain vigilant’.

Dybala has a €12m release clause which is valid until the 15th of January, and even though there’s still time ‘in theory’, TMW doesn’t believe that will be triggered until then, and the Giallorossi will then start working to get his contract renewed.

The injury is set to keep the player at Roma for now, as they don’t even know when he’ll be available for José Mourinho again.

Chelsea’s chase for Dybala has indeed been very much commented in the past few months, but it seems nothing will happen before the end of the season.
