Ahead of the past few transfer windows, Paulo Dybala’s future has been a big topic in the Italian sport media. At times it’s felt that Juventus haven’t been against a sale, but the player hasn’t been hugely keen himself and not many clubs have come forward for a potential deal.
As we approach the summer market, Dybala is again the subject of increasing rumours from around the European sport media. Chief among those spreading claims is Tuttosport, a newspaper based in Turin.
In their Tuesday edition, they say PSG are in pole position to sign the Argentine, but there’s also interest from the Premier League. Chelsea and both Manchester clubs are named, with the London side getting the biggest mention.
As far as Tuttosport have it, Chelsea would be ready to sign the player and make him the star of their show, willing to build a team around Dybala. It’s not thought he’d be given this chance at the other sides named, and that’s why Thomas Tuchel’s club is pushed ahead.
The 27-year-old’s contract expires in June 2022 and renewal talks haven’t shown any big progress, therefore a sale is a possibility. Given his contract situation, Juventus would have to sell for a reasonable price in the coming market if there’s no change before then.
Chelsea interest is described as ‘anything but an invention’, and it’s suggested a player, such as Emerson Palmieri, could be used as part of the deal.
Hit by injury this season, and not a nailed-on starter when available, Dybala has played in 13 Serie A matches this campaign, totalling 689 minutes with three goals and two assists.
