Torino defender Gleison Bremer was linked to a few Premier League sides in recent months, as his season with the Serie A side seems to be drawing interest from a list of pretenders.
Now in the past few days, it’s been reported that Chelsea are about to join the race for the 24-year-old as well. And according to the latest news from Italy, the Blues could already be in the lead for his signing.
As relayed by Tutto Mercato Web, newspaper Tuttosport today writes that the Stamford Bridge side are currently in pole position to get Bremer.
Torino are struggling to agree a contract extension with the defender, and since his current deal expires in 2023, they should try to get a sale next year to avoid any chance of losing him for free.
“It’s really England that is the next, perhaps imminent, destination,” writes the outlet, claiming he could leave Torino as soon as January.
Tutto Mercato Web doesn’t say how much Chelsea would spend on the signing. Recent reports have been claiming that it should take between €20 and €25m to take him from the Serie A side.
