The Tammy Abraham saga is starting to become one of the hottest topics of conversation in Italy these days, and it’s clear why.
After all, AS Roma and Arsenal, who were in talks over a Granit Xhaka transfer prior, are both after the Chelsea forward, and both José Mourinho and Mikel Arteta are said to be personally involved in convincing him to join their respective clubs.
Abraham, a fan of the Gunners, is said to prefer a move to the Emirates, where he could emulate the likes of Thierry Henry, and yet those close to him are reportedly telling him a move to Italy would be best for his career.
That’s what Corriere della Sera are saying on Wednesday, which backs up previous claims that many around the Chelsea striker favour the Roma idea.
They explain ‘his agent pushes to bring him to Roma, which, compared to Arsenal, would guarantee him greater opportunities for growth’.
As things stand, Roma have offered him a €4m/year contract, which is below the €5m/year he is asking for, and that’s when Mourinho picked up the phone to ‘induce him to accept’.
Either way, Abraham’s future is far from Chelsea it seems, and it’s now up to him to decide what’s best for his career.
