Already spending a few pennies here and there on the likes of Ben White and Albert Sambi Lokonga, Arsenal could end up splashing the cash a bit more before the end of the transfer window.

That is, at least, what Corriere dello Sport are reporting on Wednesday, claiming the Gunners have seemingly firmly joined the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina.

Tottenham and Atlético Madrid were already fighting it out, with Inter also looking at him to potentially replace Romelu Lukaku, but we are now seeing the Gunners’ name pop up more and more next to the Serbian striker’s.

Vlahovic’s agent, Darko Ristic, has been doing the rounds and meeting/calling interested clubs, and it’s explained ‘there was no lack of contacts more recently with Arsenal and Atlético Madrid’, seen as ‘big clubs that could invest big bucks’ in the forward.

It’s made clear that ‘the two north London rivals and the Colchoneros are certainly not insensitive to the charm’ of the Serbia international, who scored 21 goals in Serie A last year in a struggling Fiorentina side.

Furthermore, it’s made clear the Italians don’t want this to drag on beyond ‘Ferragosto’, which is a public holiday on August 15th.

Therefore, the clock is ticking for any interested parties.
