There were expectations that Olivier Giroud would have a medical on Monday to complete his move to Milan, but the Italian press reckon it might take a tad longer than that.
Gazzetta dello Sport reckon that Wednesday could be a key day for the Chelsea player’s future, as not only is it the day the Serie A calendar will be revealed, but it’s also the one when ‘the new Rossoneri centre-forward will arrive in the city’.
There is the possibility that he travels on Tuesday to undergo his medical, but the crux of the matter is, there are only ‘the final bureaucratic steps and the organisation of the trip to Milan missing’.
It should ‘not go beyond the first days of the week’, and once the move is done, the current Chelsea player will be allowed to resume his holidays following his involvement in the Euros with France.
We are seemingly nearing the end of a long saga, one that will see the Frenchman leave the Premier League after nine years in England, of which five and a half were spent with Arsenal before a £15.3m move to Stamford Bridge in January 2018.
During his time on these shores, Giroud has scored 144 goals in 372 games for both London teams, including another 55 assists for his teammates.
